Gang of six arrested at Siliguri Junction Station in multiple snatch-and-run cases

Siliguri, 21st May: A team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) of Siliguri Junction Station busted a notorious gang accused of robbery and snatching in numerous trains and stations. In this regard, the team arrested 6 individuals, identified as, Ajay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Satyavan, Rajbir, Vijender, and Sandeep, all residents of Haryana.


Reportedly, this gang of miscreants was functional in the entire state of West Bengal by posing as passengers and targetted other genuine passengers of trains. Notably, incidents of theft and snatching had increased on many other trains, including Kanchankanya Express. Subsequently, RPF and GRP jointly started investigating the matter, during which, the members of this gang were revealed through the CCTV footage of the station. Later, the team of RPF and GRP launched an undercover operation and apprehended 6 individuals From Siliguri Junction Railway Station initially based on suspicion, which was later confirmed upon investigation.

Meanwhile, during the investigation, the team also recovered many stolen bags and materials from their possession. Today, all the accused were produced before the Siliguri Court, while, further investigations are underway to ascertain if there are other members in the gang.
