Binnaguri, 17th August: The carcass of a wild elephant was recovered from the Binnaguri army camp, on Monday.
According to the information, the army personnel spotted the elephant carcass, this morning and reported the matter to the Binnaguri Wildlife Squad.
Upon receiving the news, Wildlife Ranger Shubhashish Roy and Jalpaiguri Honorary Wildlife Warden Seema Chowdhury reached the spot shortly after.
It has been primarily assumed that the incident occurred following a fight between two elephants. The Forest officials are currently present at the spot.
