Rajganj, 25th May: Today marks the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, which is one of the most significant festivals that is celebrated by the Muslim community around the world. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there shall be no mass namaz at mosques all over India since the government has prohibited all religious gatherings.
Monday began with an unusual celebration of Eid ul-Fitr in Rajganj: unlike in the past, most of them made it a private and a closed-door affair following all the government protocols. Several people were sighted performing namaz in various parts of Rajganj adhering to the social distancing norms.
Saleman Haque , on behalf of the Mantadari Jama Masjid, stated that Eid is a big religious festival for the people of the Muslim community. Every year, thousands of people celebrate the day with much zeal and enthusiasm. This year, however, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, certain restrictions were followed and Eid was celebrated in a different way.
