Siliguri, 17th January: A dump truck, lost its control, and crashed into three stores near the street in Darjeeling More, Siliguri. One person died in the incident. The deceased has been identified as Mangal Mandi, a resident of Darjeeling More.
According to sources, the dump truck, which was traveling from Champasari More to Matigara, suddenly lost its control and smashed into the shops at around 4 am today. Mangal Mandi died on the spot. The locals then informed the Police about the incident.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, the Police reached the spot and seized the dump truck and also arrested the driver.
The locals alleged that the accident occurred as the driver was intoxicated. An atmosphere of tension was witnessed in the area after the incident. The Police are currently investigating the incident.
