Siliguri, 11th January: Sensation prevailed after a pickup van lost control in front of Siliguri Municipal Corporation and rammed into a shop. The incident caused a stir in the area.
One person has been injured in the incident. He was rushed to Siliguri District Hospital where he was released after initial treatment.
Witnesses said that the driver of the pickup van was highly intoxicated. He allegedly hit a scooter parked at the roadside first and then lost control and rammed into the said shop.
Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot. While the driver is absconding, the pickup van has been detained and taken to the police station.
