Alipurduar, 09th February: The Tamang Sonam Lochar Utsav commenced at the Kalchini Tea Garden Buxa grounds on behalf of the Dooars Tamang Youth Association.
Sonam Lochar is an important festival of the Tamang community. During this day, the people of the Tamang community tidy and decorate their house to welcome the New Year. Alipurduar District Council mentor Mohan Sharma, Principal of the Central Committee of the Tamang Youth Association Dilip Pakhrin and many other dignitaries were present during the event.
The renowned people of Dooars were honored with the title of Tamang Dooars Bhushan during the event.
