Dhupguri, 16th March: A deer was rescued from the banks of the Jaldhaka River in Dhaolaguri area adjacent to Dhupguri block, on Tuesday afternoon. The locals later handed over the animal to the forest department.
Shailen Roy, a local, sighted the animal on the banks of the river. As soon as the news spread like wildfire, several locals rushed to catch a glimpse of the deer. Following this, the incident was reported to the forest department who later rescued it.
