Mirik, 05th June: Darjeeling MLA Neeraj Zimba, during his visit to the eastern Chenga village in the Terai region, met an 11-year-old differently-abled child Ashana Rai. Born in a poor family, she lost her father at an early age and is suffering from cerebral palsy since birth. As she is unable to walk, the MLA gifted her a wheelchair.
But it does not end there, the MLA himself pushed young Ashana’s new wheelchair and took her to the nearby toll booth to meet her friends. “Ashana is a good student and her mother told me that she is very interested in studying. I promised to bear the entire cost of Ashana’s education,” Zimba said. The MLA hoped the wheelchair will help a bright student like Ashana go to school.
“I want to see a smile on the face of every person in crisis and I will help everyone according to my ability,” he added. The GNLF representative of the Terai Chenga branch thanked MLA Zimba for extending his support to Ashana Rai.
its good to see such acts by our politicians.
