Siliguri: On Monday, the CPI(M) committee in Darjeeling district observed the 111th birth anniversary of the late Chief Minister and prominent leftist leader Jyoti Basu.
Reportedly, the occasion was marked with the hoisting of party flags and a floral tribute to Jyoti Basu in front of the Anil Biswas Bhavan. Significantly, former mayor and CPI(M) leader Ashok Bhattacharya, Secretary of the district CPI(M) Jibesh Sarkar, and other party officials were present at the event.
