Siliguri, 19th May: SMC BoA Chairman Goutam Deb today inaugurated a 40-bedded COVID ward, set up at Siliguri District Hospital. At present, the ward consists of 20 out of the total number of beds.
Reportedly, the male and female surgical wards in the hospital have been converted to COVID wards. The advanced COVID ward has been arranged for critically ill patients, with oxygen pipelines, 5 ventilators and BiPAP machines.
Until now, COVID-19 patients were being treated at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital and private nursing homes, but from now on, people testing positive for the virus will be treated at Siliguri District Hospital.
