Naxalbari, 16th April: With only few days left for campaigning, Congress candidate Amitava Sarkar from the Matigara-Naxalbari Assembly constituency has stepped up his election outreach.
On Thursday, he conducted campaign activities in Rathkhola and Tukria More areas of Naxalbari. During the campaign, he was also seen greeting a TMC panchayat member.
Sarkar said he is visiting people across the constituency seeking votes and claimed that postal ballot voting has already begun under close monitoring.
He also stated that the Congress is the only party contesting all 294 seats in the state, adding that the opposition is “afraid” of the Congress presence in the constituency.
He further remarked that BJP and TMC are deploying top leaders, including the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, for campaigning in the region.
Sarkar added that All India Congress Committee president Mallikarjun Kharge is also likely to visit for campaigning.
