Congress and Left alliance will form government in Bengal: Shankar Malakar

Siliguri, 01st February: The Congress and the Left Front will contest the West Bengal Assembly election 2021 in an alliance. 


Addressing a press conference at the Congress Party’s Bidhan Bhawan in Siliguri today, Darjeeling District Congress President and Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Shankar Malakar said that so far, the parties have finalized sharing 193 seats of the total of 294 of West Bengal assembly. The decision on the remaining 101 seats will be taken soon, Malakar said.

He said that the only alternative to the ruling Trinamool Congress government in the state is the Congress and Left alliance. He further said that this coalition will only be the government which can relieve the common man from unemployment and constant price rise in various goods. 


As per the information, the Darjeeling District Committee of the Indian National Congress is going to hold a public meeting at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri on February 06. West Bengal Pradesh Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will be present as the main speaker in this public meeting.
