Siliguri, 01st November: Apart from inspecting various ghats, the district administration and police officials are monitoring the arrangements for Chhath Puja.
District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam, Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma, SJDA, and SMC officials visited Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat as well as Santoshinagar Ghat on Monday to look into the puja arrangements.
Every year, a large number of devotees perform Chhath puja at Lalmohan Moulik Ghat. Last year, people faced extreme difficulties due to the absence of stairways in the ghat. This year, staircases have been constructed and a new ghat has been built.
In this context, Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma said that police personnel will be deployed and all required measures will be taken to maintain security at the Puja Ghat.
