Islampur, 10th January: Based on a tip-off, the Police searched a pickup can and recovered 40 kgs of cannabis from NH-31 in the Madaripur area under Islampur Police Station. The van driver has been arrested in the incident.
Islampur District Superintendent of Police Sachin Makkar said that the vehicle was coming from the Balarampur area of Cooch Behar district. The market value of the recovered cannabis has been estimated to be around 2 lakh rupees. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
