Siliguri, 26th March: The candidates of various political parties submitted their nomination papers at the SDO office on Friday. The candidates were accompanied by their supporters who danced and rejoiced to the beat of the drums. The political scenario in the city was nothing less than a festival since the very morning.
Amid the intense electioneering, Matigara-Naxalbari Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anandamoy Barman was spotted touching the feet of Sanjukta Morcha’s (CPIM-Congress-ISF) Congress candidate Sankar Malakar and seeking blessings for the upcoming elections.
In this regard, BJP candidate Anandamoy Barman said that politics is more of a battle of principles and ideals and not personal conflict.
