BJP accused of assaulting TMC Panchayat member and setting bike on fire in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 03rd September: Allegations have been leveled against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for physically assaulting a Trinamool Congress (TMC) Panchayat Member and setting his two-wheeler on fire in Patlakhawa Gram Panchayat (GP) area under Alipurduar Block I.


As per reports, TMC Panchayat member Safiul Miya was returning from Sahebpota bazar, during which, some miscreants allegedly attacked him in the Baladangi area and burnt his bike. After the incident, Safiul was transported to the hospital for medical care. Following this, TMC leader and Sahayak Sabhadhipati of Alipurduar Zila Parishad Manoranjan Dey, District TMC Chairman Mridul Goswami arrived at the hospital.

In this regard, the TMC party has claimed for BJP’s involvement in the incident. In protest, TMC workers blocked the road by burning tires in the Sonapur Chowpathy area. However, BJP District Vice President Sadhan Saha stated that the incident was a conspiracy of the TMC party. He added that the BJP party has a stronghold in the Patlakhawa area of Alipurduar Block I and the TMC party failed to form the board for which they planned a conspiracy.
