Rajganj, 03rd August: Members of Bhutkir Hat organised a service camp for devotees travelling to the Jalpesh Temple in Maynaguri during the holy month of ‘Shravan’. On Sunday night, volunteers distributed cold drinking water and khichdi to devotees travelling along National Highway 31D towards the temple.
The organisers also arranged resting facilities to ensure the devotees could continue their journey comfortably without inconvenience.
Rajganj MLA Dinesh Sarkar visited the camp for a brief period and praised the organisers for their humanitarian initiative.
One of the organisers, Shubhankar Dutta, said that, as in previous years, Bhutkir Hat members had arranged cold drinking water and khichdi for Jalpesh-bound devotees. Around 5,000 bottles of cold drinking water were distributed during the programme. He added that they would continue organising such public service initiatives in the future.
