Ambulance meets with accident in Fulbari while transporting patient, police launch probe

Fulbari, 02nd May: An ambulance met with an accident in Fulbari while transporting a patient, leaving the patient trapped inside the vehicle. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon near the Mahananda Barrage road.

According to reports, the ambulance was on its way to a private hospital in Siliguri carrying a patient from Bhagalpur in Bihar. While crossing the Mahananda Barrage and heading towards Siliguri, a pickup van allegedly entered the road suddenly through an unauthorized crossing in front of the ambulance.

As a result, the ambulance lost control and collided with the vehicle, causing severe damage to its front portion. The patient got trapped inside the ambulance following the impact. The pickup van reportedly fled the spot after the accident.

Upon receiving information, police from Fulbari Highway Traffic Outpost and New Jalpaiguri Police Station reached the scene. With the help of locals, the patient was rescued and sent to a private hospital in Siliguri. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
