Burma teak recovered in Phansidewa, two arrested

Siliguri, 10th January: Phansidewa Police recovered Burma teak worth crores, on Sunday.


Reportedly, Police detained a lorry at Goaltuli more under Phansidewa police station on Sunday. After searching, a large quantity of Burma teak wood was recovered. The driver of the lorry Nizam Ahmed and conductor Chand Hussain were arrested in the incident. They are residents of Uttar Pradesh.


According to police sources, the timber was being smuggled to Purnia. They were produced in Siliguri court on Monday.
