Mathabhanga, 25th September: Concern has gripped Mathabhanga after a 15-year-old girl went missing from the area. Her family has lodged a written complaint at Mathabhanga Police Station and has been searching for her for several days without success.
According to the family, Shruti Barman left home on September 19 saying she was going for tuition. However, she did not return home afterwards. The family subsequently lodged a complaint with the police.
The family alleged that after being informed about the disappearance, police assured them that the girl would be traced soon. However, they said there has been no information about her whereabouts so far.
The family also tried contacting some unknown numbers found on the girl’s mobile phone. According to them, several of these numbers are currently switched off.
The family said they had no prior acquaintance or contact with the people associated with these numbers. They have appealed to the police to trace the minor girl as soon as possible.
