Siliguri, 25th September: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista attended ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ programme organised at Siliguri College of Commerce on Thursday. The visit marked his first visit to the college since assuming the role of President of its Governing Body.
Bista was warmly welcomed by the college authorities upon his arrival. The programme was held in a festive atmosphere, with students and faculty members presenting various cultural performances.
Addressing the gathering, Bista said that special emphasis would be placed on infrastructure development to transform the college into a model institute. He stated that necessary steps would be taken to expedite the planned development projects, which are estimated to cost around ₹30 crore.
The MP also highlighted the college’s reputation and its alumni network, noting that many former students have established themselves in different parts of the country.
He assured that the administration and college authorities would work together to uphold the institution’s legacy and support its development in the future.
