Siliguri, 15th November: The Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence (YSCE), in collaboration with Merlin Group’s sports division, Club Pavilion, is conducting a multi-city cricket talent hunt across East India. Following its event in Bhubaneswar on November 9, 2024, the initiative will now come to Siliguri in North Bengal on November 17 at the Delhi Public School ground.
The one-day trials in Siliguri will be conducted by Vishal Bhatia (BCCI Level 1 Certified Coach) and Satyendra Singh (BCCI Level 2 Certified Coach). Aspiring cricketers from North Bengal districts, including Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Dinajpur, as well as states like Sikkim, Assam, and Nagaland, are encouraged to participate for a chance to be selected on the spot.
Participants chosen during these talent hunts, including those from Bhubaneswar, will receive 100% scholarships to YSCE’s Advanced Training Program at its High-Performance Centre in Kolkata. This program provides young players access to elite training and facilities, regardless of financial backgrounds.
Yuvraj Singh, cricket icon and founder of YSCE, emphasized his commitment to discovering and nurturing hidden talent from East India. Saket Mohta, MD of Merlin Group, highlighted the group’s dedication to supporting young athletes with world-class infrastructure and coaching.
After Siliguri, the talent hunt will continue in Kolkata on November 23 and Patna on November 24, offering young cricketers from across the region a life-changing opportunity to hone their skills under expert mentorship.
I want to participate in the trial.
