Siliguri, 29th April: Five young men had set out to commit a robbery in a four-wheeler. They were in the midst of planning where to carry out the dacoity when the police from Bhakti Nagar police station foiled their plans by arresting all the accused. The police also recovered weapons from them. The accused have been identified as Anando Das (20), Rikesh Chhetri (23), Rahul Tamang (29), Hari Tamang (23), and Yogesh Chhetri (24). Anando is a resident of the area under Ward No. 44 of Siliguri, while Rikesh, Rahul, and Yogesh are residents of Sikkim, and Hari is from Mungpoo.
As per the information, the five youths had arrived at Fauji Mart in Ward No. 42 under the Siliguri Municipal Corporation with their vehicle and were planning their robbery attempt. However, the undercover police of Bhakti Nagar police station suspected them during patrolling and searched their vehicle. Some weapons were recovered, and the police started interrogating them, leading to the whole truth coming out. The police arrested all the accused and presented them in the Jalpaiguri court today. Currently, the police are investigating the entire incident.
