Siliguri, 15th November: A youth who lost his leg after being hit by a moving train in Siliguri has succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Chandrabhushan Kumar Sahu (21), a resident of South Ambedkar Colony in Ward No. 01.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Thursday when Sahu was in the path of a moving train near the Mahabirsthan Hawker’s Corner. His leg was severed in the accident. The severely injured youth was quickly rushed to the Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.
However, despite efforts, the youth passed away at the hospital later that night. On Friday, his family arrived at the hospital to identify the body. They revealed that Chandrabhushan worked at a hotel near Jhankar More and had left for Mahabirsthan with his employer. He was fatally struck by the train while returning.
The tragic incident has left the family in deep mourning. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
