Siliguri, 12th December: A youth was arrested by NJP Police after country liquor was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Arif Hossain, a resident of Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar, who had been staying in Siliguri on rent.
According to police sources, the arrest was made on Friday morning near More Bazar Bridge in Ward No. 34 of Siliguri. During a routine check, police intercepted the youth and recovered country liquor from him. He was immediately taken into custody.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri Court. Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.
