Siliguri, 23rd February: A joint operation by the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and the Khalpara Outpost led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and the arrest of a youth. The arrested youth has been identified as MD Bittu, a resident of Dangipara in Ward No. 06.
According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, surveillance was conducted in the Burdwan Road area on Monday. During the operation, a youth was spotted acting suspiciously and was stopped for a search.
Police recovered approximately 370 grams of brown sugar from his possession. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is over four lakh rupees. The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
