Phansidewa, 19th September: An unsettling incident has come to the fore where a 10th standard student was allegedly subjected to molestation in Phansidewa. The incident was investigated by the Bidhannagar Investigation Centre, leading to the arrest of the accused youth, identified as Raden Roy.
As per reports, on Wednesday, the student was home alone when her parents had left for medical needs. During this, the accused youth, who lived in the neighbourhood, entered the house and allegedly molested her. Terrified of the situation, the victim began screaming for help when the accused attempted to flee from the scene.
However, he was eventually caught by the victim’s sister and brother-in-law who were alerted by her screams. The incident was reported to the Bidhannagar Investigation Centre and the accused was subsequently arrested. On Thursday, the case was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for further legal proceedings.
