Tufanganj, 24th March: Sensation prevailed after a woman’s body with a slit throat was recovered in Kadambagan adjacent area under Nakkatigachh Gram Panchayat of Tufanganj in Cooch Behar. The deceased has been identified as Rinku Debnath.
Reportedly, two kids of Rinku and her mother-in-law had gone to the fair on Thursday night, while Rinku and her husband were at home. When the kids and mother-in-law returned from the fair, they found the house’s gate locked. Despite calling for a long time, they did not get any response. Rinku’s sons then broke the lock and entered. Following this, they found the blood-soaked body of their mother.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, a huge police corps and officers from Tufanganj police station reached the spot. Meanwhile, Rinku’s husband Subrata is absconding since the incident. The police are probing the entire incident.
The father of the deceased claimed that there was a dispute going on between his daughter and son-in-law for several months, and alleged that his daughter was killed by his son-in-law.
