Alipurduar, 13th September: A female tea estate worker was injured in a leopard attack at Kalabari Tea Estate in Dooars. The victim, identified as Reshma Kharia (36), is currently receiving treatment at Birpara State General Hospital in Alipurduar.
Reports indicate that the attack occurred on Thursday as Kharia was returning home from working in the tea garden. The leopard attacked her from behind, causing serious injuries. She sustained scratches and bite marks on her head, neck, and other parts of her body.
Following the incident, Kharia was initially taken to Banarhat Rural Hospital for emergency care. Due to the severity of her condition, she was subsequently referred to Birpara State General Hospital for further treatment.
