Siliguri, 03rd June: After enduring prolonged domestic abuse, a woman in Siliguri took action against her husband by filing a complaint with the Women’s Police Station. The police promptly arrested the accused husband, identified as Manoj Pal (31).
Reportedly, Manoj Pal, a resident of Bharat Nagar area under Ward No. 24 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), married Mampi Das in 2016. The couple has two children. Initially, their marriage appeared stable, but soon conflicts began to surface.
Mampi Das accused Manoj Pal of frequent physical abuse over minor issues, with the severity of his actions increasing over time. Unable to tolerate the abuse any longer, Mampi Das filed a written complaint on May 30, detailing the domestic violence she endured.
Following the complaint, the Women’s Police Station launched an investigation and arrested Manoj Pal on Sunday. He was presented in Siliguri court on Monday. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
