Dhupguri, 19th February: A woman was crushed to death by a lorry in the Khudiram Pally area, today. The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Roy (29), a resident of the Garakuto area of Dhupguri block.
According to the information received, Laxmi Roy was on her way to the Dhupguri Hospital with her husband on a motorcycle. On the way, Laxmi suddenly fell down on the road from the motorcycle in the Khudiram Pally area. At the moment, a speeding lorry ran over Laxmi, killing her on the spot.
After the incident, traffic in the Dhupguri-Cooch Behar road came to a standstill for a while. However, the situation was brought under control after the intervention of the police.
