Dhupguri, 25th February: A woman, travelling on a two-wheeler, was crushed to death by a dumper, on Thursday morning. The incident surfaced from the Sonatala Hat between Falakata-Dhupguri.
According to sources, an overloaded dumper speeding towards Dhupguri took a sharp turn due to which the scooty coming from the opposite direction lost control. The said woman (pillion rider) fell from the scooty and came under the wheels of the dumper.
After the incident, locals protested demanding to restrict plying of reckless dumpers in the said route. The heated situation came under control after the intervention of the police. The body was recovered and sent for an autopsy. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
