Wild elephants wreak havoc in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 19th May: A herd of 35 elephants from the Kalabari forest in Naxalbari has been invading the residential areas for the past few days.

As per reports, over the past few days, the elephants have targeted various areas within the jurisdiction of the Panighata Forest Division. Notably, the herd vandalized a house in Jhapujote two days ago and recently ventured into the Nirpani area and further into Kestopur on Saturday, leaving a trail of damage.

Forest officials from the Panighata range have swiftly responded to the situation and are monitoring the movement of the elephants to prevent them from entering populated areas and causing further harm.
