Wild elephant herd wreaks havoc and destroys crops in Jaldumur area near Sahudangi

Rajganj, 09th January: A herd of wild elephants wreaked havoc and destroyed standing crops including potatoes and cauliflowers in the Jaldumur area adjacent to Sahudangi.


According to reports, wild elephants entered the farmlands at around 2 a.m. in the Jaldumur area near Sahudangi under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block. During this, the standing crops in the farmlands estimated to be worth thousands of rupees, were damaged by the wild tuskers.

In this regard, the locals said that a herd of elephants arrived at the area late at night and destroyed the entire cultivation comprising potatoes, carrots, gourds, and coconuts. Further, the locals urged the Forest Department to patrol the area.
