Wild elephant enters a house and wreaks havoc in Dabgram, residents narrowly escape death

Siliguri, 17th January: An elephant entered a village in Dabgram at around 2 in the wee hours of Monday and wreaked havoc in a house. While it was gobbling on the rice stored in the house, the residents somehow made a narrow escape. The matter was immediately informed to the forest department. Acting promptly, the forest personnel reached the spot and chased the elephant towards the forest. 


Residents said that wild elephants occasionally come out of the Baikunthapur forest and wander into the residential areas. They added that they spend their day and night in fear of another elephant attack.
