Siliguri, 05th September: On Teachers’ Day, the West Bengal Primary Teachers’ Association made a significant statement by boycotting all government programs and staging a demonstration to voice a range of demands, including the cancellation of the National Education Policy 2020.
A total of 8,207 participants gathered for a sit-in protest in front of Baghajatin Park, underscoring various concerns related to the education sector. Key issues raised during the protest encompassed alleged conspiracies to close schools, teacher appointments, and the need to address abusive behavior towards teachers and teaching staff.
The association’s members used this platform to articulate their demands, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding the interests and rights of teachers in West Bengal.
