Darjeeling, 17th March: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) President Binay Tamang, while addressing the media on Wednesday, stated that the party will be announcing its candidates for the assembly election, on March 21.
It is to be noted, earlier this month, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee while announcing the party’s candidates to contest in the assembly election set aside the Darjeeling, Kurseong, and Kalimpong assembly constituencies for her “friends”. Welcoming this decision, Tamang stated that his party will be announcing their candidates during an event in Mungpoo on March 21 at 11.30 am in the presence of the party’s core members. Also, the party will be releasing its manifesto on the same day.
In addition to this Tamang informed that the party has formed a unit consisting of its members from Ellenbarrie to Kumargram. Apparently, the said unit will support and help in the electioneering of TMC candidate from their respective area.
