WB Board of Secondary Education to promote students of class VI to class IX without taking examinations

In view of the ongoing pandemic, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education took some major decisions in the academic year 2020 and requested the institution heads to follow the below mentioned instructions strictly.

• The students of class VI to class IX shall be promoted to the next class without appearing for any examination. However, after the school reopens and regular classes resume, the teachers must revise the previous class syllabus before starting the new syllabus.

• No selection test will be held for class X students this year. However, the schools are requested to prepare the students for MP-2021 by conducting mock tests.

“However whenever the school opens and classes begin regularly, the teachers will have to first revise the old syllabus completely in the interest of students,” before taking up any new chapter, a WBBSE statement said.
