Siliguri, 24th September: Various areas of Siliguri have been submerged under rainwater due to continuous heavy downpour for the past few days. In this concern, the Trinamool Darjeeling district president Ranjan Sarkar inspected the waterlogged areas. Ward No. 40 coordinator Satyajit Adhikary, Ravi Roy from Ward No. 41, and Pradip Goyel were also present during the inspection.
Meanwhile, the ward coordinator Satyajit Adhikari had to face the wrath of the locals as soon as he reached Ashraf Nagar in Ward No. 40. Later Ranjan Sarkar controlled the heated situation.
According to local sources, even with a little downpour, rainwater accumulates in various places due to the poor drainage system in the area. The dilapidated condition of the roads adds to the concern. Allegedly, no necessary steps have been taken by the administration so far.
However, Satyajit Adhikari stated that there must be a political motive behind such behaviour and he further denied all allegations.
