Alipurduar, 05th July: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and National Vice President, Dilip Ghosh, visited Alipurduar on Wednesday to campaign in support of the party’s candidates ahead of the Panchayat elections scheduled for July 8. Ghosh addressed a public meeting in the Sonapur area, which falls under Alipurduar Block-1.
During his speech, Dilip Ghosh appealed to the voters for their support in establishing a corruption-free Village Panchayat in the upcoming election. He criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and described the current state government as corrupt. Ghosh accused the TMC of misappropriating public funds intended for development projects. He also claimed that several families were denied benefits under the central government’s housing scheme due to their non-support of the ruling party.
Furthermore, the BJP leader highlighted that the state government has failed to submit the names of thousands of farmers for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, despite repeated requests from the Central government. This has resulted in many farmers in the state being deprived of the annual grant of Rs. 6,000 provided by the central government.
