Siliguri, 08th November: A voluntary organization adopted a fancy initiative to spread COVID-19 awareness among the citizens of Siliguri. The organization members handed over earthen lamps to several pedestrians and urged all to refrain from bursting firecrackers this Diwali.
The members of the organization carried a variety of earthen lamps in a van and toured various parts of the city to distribute them among the citizens. 10 lamps were provided to each person.
Rakesh Dutta, the head of the organization, said that such an initiative has been taken to keep people away from China-made products and fireworks. They appealed to the common people to decorate their houses with local lamps, this Diwali.
