Siliguri, 22nd March: Sensation prevailed after valuables worth lakhs were stolen from the Kali Mandir in Champasari under Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to the information, the priest arrived this morning and noticed several gold ornaments missing and saw that the donation box had been tampered with. Following this, the matter was reported to the temple committee, who reached the spot shortly after and informed the police.
As per the members of the temple committee, the miscreants entered the temple through the window. Some CCTV footage is also missing. Gold jewellery worth lakhs has been stolen.
Meanwhile, the Pradhan Nagar police reached the spot after receiving the news. The members of the temple committee lodged a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
