Jalpaiguri, 04th March: Due to unseasonal rainfall, potato cultivation in Jalpaiguri district has been affected. According to the agricultural department, light and moderate rains for the past few days have resulted in potato diseases in different areas of the Sadar block. If medicines are not provided at the right time, the amount of damage will increase in the long run.
In this regard, Deputy Director of Agriculture of Jalpaiguri district Jayanta Pal stated that potato crops have been destroyed in one hundred hectares of land due to harsh weather conditions in Malbazar.
