Siliguri, 10th March: Two women were injured in Siliguri after a recklessly driven four-wheeler rammed into them.
The incident took place near the Tarun Sangha Club, where a wedding function was ongoing. Between 1:30 am and 2:00 am, the speeding vehicle collided with a municipal water tanker and a scooter. Earlier, the same vehicle had hit a woman sitting outside the venue, fracturing her leg. She was immediately taken to Siliguri District Hospital.
Later, near Haidar Para’s Haripal More, the vehicle struck another woman standing by the roadside. She was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition.
Police arrived promptly at the scene and apprehended the driver. A detailed investigation into the incident has begun.
The recent spate of accidents in the city has raised concerns over road safety.
