Two-wheeler stolen from Siliguri, notorious thief arrested, and bike recovered

Siliguri, 17th October: A bike stolen from the front of a house in Siliguri has been recovered, and the notorious thief, identified as Hasibul, has been arrested by the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police. The arrest followed an investigation based on CCTV footage.


Reportedly, the theft occurred on October 13, when Mohammad Munna’s bike was stolen from the Baribhasa area in the afternoon. After Munna filed a written complaint at NJP police station, the police examined CCTV footage from the scene, leading them to identify and arrest Hasibul, a notorious bike thief from Bhorer Alo area in Gajoldoba.

As per sources, Hasibul had been involved in stealing bikes from areas around Siliguri and NJP, transporting them to Islampur, where a man named Jewel Ali would facilitate their resale.


Acting on this information, the NJP police recovered the stolen bike from the Daspara area of Islampur and are now searching for several other stolen bikes.
