Two stray canine fall prey to acid attack in Siliguri

Siliguri, 17th September: A distressing incident surfaced from Indira Pally area under Ward No. 46 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), in which, two stray dogs became victim of acid attacks.


According to reports, on last Friday, a dog was severely injured in an alleged acid attack in the said area. Subsequently, the locals informed the Siliguri Animal Helpline. Upon receiving the news, Priya Rudra, a member of the Animal Helpline arrived at the spot and made arrangements for the dog’s treatment.

On Saturday night, another dog was allegedly attacked with acid in the aforementioned area. Subsequently, the Animal Helpline team rushed to the rescue and transported the dog to the veterinary hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the canine succumbed to injuries during the treatment.


Following the incidents, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station also arrived at the scene. During this, the locals demanded for a detailed investigation to ascertain the suspects involved in the incident. On Sunday, a formal complaint was filed at Pradhan Nagar police station.

    2. Open crimes on day light.
    3. No proper traffic handling by traffic personnel. They just sit inside the cabin despite traffic jam before their eyes.
    3. Unwanted parking on busy road.
    4. Totos running without any trafic guidelines.
    If all these isn’t seen strictly by the authorities it will be more worse with passing time.
