Jalpaiguri, 20th August: Two policemen were injured in an accident that took place this morning at the Post Office More in Jalpaiguri.
As per the information, a police constable who was heading towards Post Office More from Police line in a car collided head-on with the on-duty Sub-Inspector, who was approaching from the opposite direction on his motorcycle.
It has been primarily assumed that the incident took place as the traffic signal at Chowmatha More was nonfunctioning due to the state-wide lockdown today. While the SI sustained head injuries, the police constable suffered slight bruises.
Following this, the SI was rushed to the Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital.
