Naxalbari,19th March: Bagdogra police arrested two drug peddlers including a woman. The arrested individuals are identified as Taslima Khatun, a resident of Totaram Jote in Naxalbari, and Mohammad Ansarul, a resident of Malgachh area of Phansidewa.
Reportedly, the smugglers had intended to smuggle brown sugar from Malda to Naxalbari. However, before the two could deliver the goods both were instigated from Singhia Jhora More in Bagdogra.
During the search, the cops recovered 103 grams of brown sugar from the woman’s tiffin box. Additionally, Bagdogra police recovered two mobile phones, identity cards, and cash.
As per reports, a case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. On Wednesday, the accused were produced at Siliguri Sub-Division court. Bagdogra police are currently investigating the entire incident.
