Two arrested with deer antlers worth crores in Bagdogra

Siliguri, 02nd November: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Opearation Group (SOG) and cops of Bagdogra police station have successfully apprehended two individuals with deer antlers worth crore of rupees. The accused have been identified as Govind Mandal, a resident of Ambari and Pritam Roy, a resident of Birpara in Alipurduar district.


According to reports, on Thursday, both the accused arrived with a bag containing deer antlers at an area under jurisdiction of Bagdogra police station. Upon receiving the news, the SOG and police of Bagdogra police station jointly conducted an operation and arrested the accused.

Upon searching, the police recovered three deer antlers from the accused. The estimated market value of the illicit item is worth crore of rupees. Following the arrest, the police have registered a case under animal trafficking and initiated further action. On Friday, the accused will be produced before Siliguri Court for legal proceedings.
