Fulbari, 05th May: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Task Force (STF) and the NJP police officials seized 10,000 bottles of banned cough syrup hidden within a truck loaded with cycle parts. The incident led to the arrest of the truck driver and helper identified as Hardeep Singh and Manjeet Singh from Punjab.
According to reports, the operation unfolded at a hotel parking lot in the Jiaganj area near Fulbari. The arrested individuals were attempting to illegally transport cycle parts from Punjab to Agartala while concealing a significant quantity of banned cough syrup.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials searched the truck and recovered the banned cough syrup with an estimated market value of approximately Rs 22 lakhs. Both accused are scheduled to appear in Jalpaiguri court on Monday.
